Follow Friday

Q: What is a book you didn’t like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that
wasn’t popular?

A: I would say the Matched Trilogy. I didn't hate it, but I felt very underwhelmed considering all the hype that went into it. I've read the first two and plan on reading the last one at some point, but I definitely did not feel all the love that other people are giving the books.

What was you answer this week?

  1. Hopping through. I've only read the first Matched book. I really liked it, although I recognized some flaws. I need to read the rest.

  3. *small voice* Hmmm. I've already seen the Matched trilogy a couple times on this question, and I've heard other people say the same thing, and it's ALL reinforcing my theory that the series sold largely because of its awesome cover design.

Old follower here. :) I don’t know if we’ll do FF tomorrow, but we do have a giveaway!

  5. I agree completely. It just seemed TOO simple. Good for younger readers, but not for the reading obsessed! PageGirlsPageofBookReviews

  6. I've only read Matched.. I can't say it was too impressive as I don't remember very much about the book itself and it wasn't that long ago I read it!

  13. I tried to read the first one in the series but just couldn't get into it. I think it was because I had a lot of shiny books to read at the same time and they took my attention.

Matched is currently in my TBR pile and also in my Stacking the Shelves/In My Mailbox etc post this week. I sure hope it didn't suck too badly :(

Lastly, regarding turtles, I've got 2 in my fish tank, one large/normal size one and one that looks like a baby but I don't think it is, I think it's just meant to stay small. It's shell is a little bit bigger than the circle on top of a can of soda...so cute!

    Have a great weekend!
