Review: Where She Went

Hi everyone, I'm back! I know according to the poll that I am supposed to be reading either Between the Shades of Grey or The Throne of Fire, but I stuffed Where She Went into my backpack at the last second and ended up reading it on the long ride. So while I am waiting for my Kindle to charge up for The Shades of Grey, I'll post my review for Where She Went.

Title: Where She Went
Author: Gayle Forman
Publisher: Dutton Juvenile
Page Count: 208 (hardcover copy)
Rating: 5/5

Description:

It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future–and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Review:

I adored this book!!! I love Adam's point of view as him when his band hit the big time and he is struggling with his new life as a famous musician. It is a fantastic sequel and I loved it even more than If I Stay. For Where She Went I liked the present narrative more than the flashbacks, whereas it was the opposite for If I Stay, but the description and emotion in both are amazing. If I hadn't been in a public place when I read the end I would most definitely have cried.

If you liked If I Stay and haven't read Where She Went yet, YOU HAVE TOO! Even if you didn't enjoy If I Stay so much, I would totally recommend you giving this a try. It is rare that sequels are as good as the first book, and even rarer when the sequel surpasses it.

I don't have anything to criticize about this book because it was so amazing, so this review is pretty short, but if you want it in short-short form:

If you haven't read these books, read them. If you haven't read Where She Went but you read If I Stay, read it, even if you didn't like If I Stay!
