Here is a description of what StoryCon is all about from their website:
"Story Con! is a convention dedicated to helping readers find their next great book.
In 2014, it is a one day event taking place on October 18th at the Vancouver Community Library, located steps from the I-5 bridge in Vancouver, Washington.
At Story Con! you can expect to find local and regional authors from a wide variety of genres reading their books, participating in various book panels, and in general allowing you the reader to interact with them. They will also have their books available to purchase.
One thing Story Con! will not feature are any panels on writing or the business of publishing. There are many existing conventions for writers. Story Con! is focused exclusively on allowing authors to showcase existing works in front of an enthusiastic audience of interested readers.
Interested in finding out more, volunteering, or participating on a panel? Make sure you sign up for our newsletter on the right."
Some of their featured authors include Daniel H. Wilson (Robopocalypse) and Athena (Murder of Crows)
