Blog Tour Stop: Shadow of the Blood Moon

Today I am glad to announce I am a stop on the Blog Tour for Shadow of the Blood Moon!

Synopsis:

Genevieve Labreck is back with a score to settle. Her mom has been kidnapped by Zane, hybrid and all-around monster. Rumors fly that Gen’s mom is holed away in Prague, a city recognized by humans for its serene beauty and intense culture, but Gen and Will know something humans don’t. Prague is haunted by dark, evil forces.

Can Gen and Will save her mom, or will they be too late?

Some will live, others will fall. At what price do you walk away from those you love?

My Review:

Rating: 3 TURTLES
Genevieve and Co. are back in the fast paced sequel to Ties to the Blood Moon, and, as in the first book, is filled with crazy plot twists. Genevieve is trying to find her mother, who, she has discovered, is being held by the hybrid Zane and follows him to the Czech Republic, where Robin Waldrop transports you to dangerous nightclubs as well as ancient castles and manor houses. I really enjoyed losing myself in the descriptions of the myriad locations, and the fast pace and twists in the plot kept the pages turning.

Unfortunately, though I was interested in the story line, I really had a disconnect with the main character. Throughout much of the book Genevieve was whiny, selfish and bratty. While this behavior did somewhat lead to an important event in the book, I had a hard time enjoying the exciting plot while my mind was on how much I wanted to slap the heroine and tell her to go put on her big girl panties. I have hopes though that she has learned her lesson now and will become the selfless leader of the Adlet wolves she was born to be.

If you enjoyed Ties to the Blood Moon, I would definitely say to check out Shadow of the Blood Moon as well, and if you haven’t read either of these books and are looking for an exciting vampire/werewolf story, and I think you should check out this one. Despite how I felt about Genevieve in this book, the plot twists and killer cliff hanger ending were such that I really want to see how this all pans out.

Q: What hyped up book was worth all of the fuss?

A: Oh gosh, let me think ... well the first books that come to mind are The Mortal Instruments/ The Infernal Devices, those books are definitely worth the fuss! I'm sure there are more, so this is a hard question, but I have read some books that were very "fussed" over and weren't that great, but anything by Cassandra Clare definitely is!
