Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?
A. I will read just about anything if I feel motivated, but one thing that I give a wide berth is "adult romance"/erotica. In reading, I want to discover all aspects of the story, character development, action, and I like a touch of romance as much as the next girl, but if the underlying point of the story is the sex... I don't know, I guess in my reading I want more substance than that. No offense to anyone that loves that genre - because I know a lot of people do- it just isn't personally my cup of tea.

I am not too keen on erotica either.Too much sex in a book just takes the magic away from it.Saying that however, a book without romance doesn't interest me either.

Erotica isn't my thing either. Don't get me wrong, sex in books doesn't turn me away, just as long as there's a plot to the story too.

I read just about anything as long as the book is well written and everything is within context. I don't head for erotica. I love Adult Urban Fantasy books as one genre I like. But, if the sex is just for the sake of it, then no. Well any sex in any books if just for the sake of it or to add shock, then no. I want a great story as my foremost thing and characters you love and loathe then whatever within context that comes added on. Sex as the first thing, then story, no, I don't want to read that. I love Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Adult read. It's this amazing mystery, great characters, yes sex, but it's not what the books are about. It's Fae and awesome characters. It's the characters and story I want first and emotion, I love connecting with the characters.

Hopping through. I'm not into erotica either. The closest I get is JR Ward's books which has a great story.
